Information for speakers
The allowable time for plenary lectures is variable depending on the session in which they are allocated. Please refer to the detailed schedule. Keynote lectures will last 30 minutes and normal presentations 20 minutes. These times include both a brief introduction by the chair of the session and any questions or discussion at the end of the presentation. All speakers and session chairs are asked to remain on schedule.
There will be an identified person of the organization responsible for each lecture room, to assist with lighting, audiovisuals and testing the presentations. All speakers should contact him at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of their session to confirm their presence and to provide brief information to be used for the introduction of their presentations.
All lecture rooms are equipped with a video projector connected to a computer, with an optional alternative connection to a laptop computer (with a VGA standard input). The available software for presentations is Windows XP Professional with Microsoft Office 2007. Presentations may be uploaded in a point on the Ground floor of the Rectorado building (see attached plan); it is recommended to have your presentation stored into a pen drive. If your presentation is scheduled on Monday, please proceed to upload your presentation right after the registration. In other case please wait after 10:30 to do it. Please make sure that your presentation is working and projecting properly from either the lecture room computer or your laptop.
A speaker ready room is available in the ground level of the Rectorado Building (see attached map).
Contributions for presentation at the Symposium may be selected by either (a) submission of an individual contributions, or (b) invitation to submit a contribution to a Working Group Organized Session.
Contributions will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings of the IASS Symposium 2009, which will be issued as a single work with ISBN number. It will consist of a book including the two-page abstracts and a CD with the full contributions. This publication will be available at the Symposium.
